This collection was created during Nicole's summer 2018 Practicum with Amanda Gross/Mistress Syndrome in Pittsburgh, PA. For this project, Nicole interviewed white people about their whiteness and Internalized Racial Superiority (a term coined by Peoples Institute for Survival and Beyond). She wrote up their stories, then created paintings based on a part of what she heard. The paintings were created using objects that represent the larger systems of racism/oppression in society. PDF copies of books including the stories and photos of the corresponding paintings are available below. Please contact Nicole if you are interested purchasing individual paintings.
